The story
When my own family needed care, I was the one making calls at midnight, second-guessing every choice, scared of getting it wrong for people I loved. I toured community after community and learned, slowly and expensively, what a good one looks like from the inside and what a brochure hides.
I started Golden Horizon two years ago so no family would have to learn it the hard way. This year I've worked with more than fifty families and walked through more than fifty communities. The photo is me with my grandpa and my uncle. I placed them both myself, in a community I'd trust with my own family.
How I work
I answer my own phone, and I answer the same day. I do the calling, so you don't get a wave of calls from a dozen communities. And I tell you the truth about every place, including the ones that don't pay me, because the whole point is that your parent lands somewhere that fits.
What I'm building
Placement showed me a gap in format, not in quality: memory care in a small residential setting, where sixteen people are known by name. So I'm building two assisted living and memory care homes on 3.7 acres in Vero Beach. They're not open yet, and the waitlist is free to join. See the homes.
